There's Blanton's bourbon, Missoni amenity kits, a Wagyu burger and a Champagne float for dessert. It all starts this fall on flights from Los Angeles across the Pacific and reaches the rest of Delta's international network in early 2027. Those are the parts getting the headlines. The change that'll matter most on your next flight is much less glamorous. Contrail --- ## The Shiny Stuff Delta says it'll be the first airline to serve Blanton's, a Kentucky bourbon that's often hard to find in stores, starting December 1\. Missoni amenity kits arrive November 3, along with a second, smaller Missoni "cuddle pillow" for every Delta One seat. But none of it changes how the flight feels as much as what comes next. Delta's Porsche transfers between connecting flights are also growing, from 40 to 70 cars across 15 airports by 2028\. They're only for travelers who pay extra for Delta's VIP Select package, though, so most Delta One passengers won't see one. --- ## The Part You'll Actually Notice The biggest shift is in how flight attendants serve the cabin. On a lot of flights, the first part of the meal is a wait for drinks to come around after takeoff. Under the new setup, which Delta calls "sip and settle," you'll find a hot towel, warm nuts and your drink of choice already waiting on your console before the first course. Delta has also moved main-course preselection to 18 hours before departure, six hours earlier than before, with more gluten-free and lighter options. That matters, because a service designed around how crews actually work is far more likely to show up the same way on every flight. On a long overnight trip, a smooth, well-paced meal that gets you to sleep sooner does more for the experience than any brand name on a pillowcase. --- ## What's Getting Smaller One detail moves in the other direction. Delta is cutting its wine menu rotation from four times a year to two, so frequent Delta One flyers will see the same 13 wines for twice as long. It's a small thing on any single trip, but it's a reminder that a "reimagined" product can trim as well as add. --- ## Will It Work? "Every investment we make is deliberate and designed to deliver the industry's most premium end-to-end travel experience," said Ranjan Goswami, Delta's chief marketing and product officer. The bourbon and Missoni kits are easy to deliver. The new service is the hard part, because it depends on every crew pulling it off on a full cabin in the middle of the night. If Delta gets that right, it's the change travelers will remember long after the novelty of the bourbon wears off.
